ARTICLE: Costly pensions under fire

Despite strong opposition from powerful government employee unions, many California researchers, public officials and candidates are beginning to call for a scaling back of the state's lavish pension benefits. Kris Vosburgh of HJTA warned California could soon face insolvency, and Stanford University conservatively estimated the state's debt at $237 billion while cautioning the actual figure could be as much as twice that.
