Sacramento – The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association’s "No New Taxes" Committee today launched another radio ad to defeat Prop. 30 – Governor Brown’s $50 billion tax increase.
The new spot – titled "Headlines" – provides news clips from top publications that shred promoters’ claims that Prop. 30 will provide new money for classrooms.
The 60-second spot quotes the Sacramento Bee which highlights the fact that leaders of the California School Boards Association "want to make it clear to the public that the Governor’s initiative does not provide ‘new’ funding for schools."
It also features a Wall Street Journal article that reveals "The dirty little secret is… new revenues are needed to backfill the insolvent teacher’s pension fund."
The new ad also highlights a recent Los Angeles Times article stating "The money to be raised by Proposition 30… would not be earmarked specifically for schools."
"Headlines" concludes with HJTA President Jon Coupal warning "If you thought Prop. 30 was for schools think again."
Paid for by No New Taxes – No on 30 a Project of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association with major funding by Protect Prop. 13 A Project of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association and Jerry Perenchio.
