Is your city, county or school district using tax dollars campaigning to raise your taxes? That’s illegal, and we want to stop it.
The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association is committed to enforcing laws that protect public resources from being misused for political campaigning.
Local agencies are allowed to provide impartial “informational” materials about ballot measures and the effect they could have on funding or services. They cannot, however, argue for, or urge voters to support a ballot measure or utilize public resources for political purposes.
If you believe your city or school district is using public resources for political advertising or campaign activities, please email a copy or description of the violation to info@hjta.org. Thank you!
