Last Friday, Jerry Brown signed the gas tax bill, intended to raise billions to repair California’s broken roads, into law. Some debate how much of the new funds will actually be used on our roads, but what is known is how much the new tax will cost you, the taxpayer. Unleaded gas will go up $0.12/gallon and diesel will be up $0.20/gallon, additionally, new registration fees will be added that range from $25-$175. This one tax will mean many Californians might pay up to $250 more per year than before.
