The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) paid over 500 officers and employees an average of $103,623, reports Newsmax based on Department of Labor data. With over a million members, including many who are not offered able to opt-out, the union took in nearly $180 million last year. Because the union’s members are government employees, these funds ultimately are paid by taxpayers.
