While Silicon Valley’s technology companies embrace ideals which sound lofty, their actions reveal they are actually behaving hypocritically, writes Joel Kotkin in RealClearPolitics.com. The tech industry has failed to achieve a diverse workforce and while they trumpet their support for green policies that raise the price of energy, they avoid the consequences of these policies by shifting manufacturing outside the state. Kotkin suggests that as opposed to Silicon Valley, where many companies are unprofitable or subsidized, the real innovators in the current economy may actually be oil wildcatters, farmers and cutting edge restaurateurs.
