In an attempt to persuade voters not to vote for Proposition 6, Caltrans has put up signs along roads and freeways that read “Your Tax Dollars at Work”, as a way of increasing “transparency and accountability.” Yet, none of these $700 signs discloses how much revenue from the gas tax is going towards each particular project, nor how much in total that Caltrans spent on the signs, writes K.
