The California Legislature is attempting to push through an increase on fees relating to housing documents. It would affect every real estate instrument, paper, or notice required by law and be a 930% increase on these documents. Critics from Orange County claim that collecting more from taxpayers won’t result in more affordable housing, only more taxes.
