Assemblyman Brian Jones plans to reintroduce legislation to increase access to flexible schedules by changing overtime rules, writes Steven Greenhut in the San Diego Union Tribune. Last year, his proposal failed due to opposition from the California Labor Federation, AFL-CIO, which argued the policy would benefit employers and harm workers. However, Greenhut says the union is actually linked to a group supporting flexible scheduling and simply wants the option to available only to union members.
