While scores are improved over last year, majority of legislators still flunk
Sacramento, CA — HJTA has released its 2014 Legislative Report Card. HJTA’s scorecard is intended as a non-partisan tool to help taxpayers hold legislators accountable. Of the 120 members of the Legislature, 75 received a grade of “F” while only 29 earned an “A” grade. Fifteen bills were used and represent the priorities of HJTA’s 200,000 members.
“Our report card is intended to provide a representative sample of how legislators did over the course of the two-year legislative session,” said HJTA President Jon Coupal. “Regrettably, as we head into the important November election, the grades show that Sacramento politicians continue to fall far short of what taxpayers demand of them.”
Five lawmakers received a perfect score:
- State Senator Joel Anderson
- State Senator Mark Wyland
- Assemblyman Brian Dahle
- Assemblyman Tim Donnelly
- Assemblywoman Beth Gaines
